Hello!

My name is Rogério Matias and I was born in Lisbon, Portugal (1960).
I teach since 1989 at Polytechnic Institute of Viseu. Among all subjects I've taught so far, the one I love most is Cálculo Financeiro (Portuguese name). This subject relies on Time Value of Money and its applications. I have a few academic books about Cálculo Financeiro, in Portuguese (the main manual has been translated and adapted to Spanish). I teach this subject every semester for my regular (Portuguese) students and I never get tired. Besides, I usually teach also a "light version" of it one semester per year, in English, for Erasmus students.
In the last few years I've been writing some notes in English, exclusively for these Erasmus students.
As I keep in touch with most of them (thank you, Facebook!...) some tell me, later, that those notes have been or are being useful in their lives, either under an academic point of view, or in their jobs. Some asked me why don't I publish them. Well, maybe one day... The truth is that, for the moment, these notes are not yet good enough for that.
Anyway, maybe someone can find them useful, even as they are. So, I decided to create this webpage, where I give them for free, as a pdf file. I will also try to enrich these notes with some supplements which I will also deliver here. Besides, I created a forum to exchange experiences, to try to clarify some doubts, whatever related to Time Value of Money.
This is an open project. This means essentially that anyone can contribute with suggestions to improve and enrich it. So, feel free to download my files under the tab "Free Stuff" and, of course, to contact me, using the forum or the contact form.
One last word: I would appreciate very much if you could leave your testimonial about this project, in general, and the file "Brief Notes on Time Value, in particular.
Hoping to hear from you!
